I have talked about Blogs in a previous post but I didn’t mention that Blogs are part of a bigger Web 2.0 revolution with Social Networking online. Many blogs are being considered as viable sources of daily information as they provide a different opinion besides the usual main stream information. Bloggers are often more personal and offer different points of view.
Many companies have adopted the use of blogs to keep a more personal contact with their customers. Even big news organizations like CNN’s turn to blogs to get an extra insight into political matters from the perspective of independent political writers and popular blog sites.
There are many types of blogs. A blog like the OCC one would be a collaborative blog where members from the same work place would work together to maintain and publish posts. The OCC blog is small but there are some blogs that would have several writers and would have posts updated regularly. Weblogs Inc at http://www.weblogsinc.com/ has a large collection of various community based blog from travel to latest technological innovations to cooking and blogs on television shows and movies.
Another type of blog is personal weblogs which are often run by one person and communicate personal views and opinions on various topics from the shape of a chair to what someone ate for lunch. These blogs usually are shared between friends and can often be comical in nature. But sometimes these blogs grow into something bigger when they get a large number of readers.
Then there are political blogs which share personal opinions on various political topics and may have one writer or be comprised of a group of writers.
At the end blogs are a new way to share opinions and information online. You may see more blogs online like this one where groups in offices or companies use it to share news about there work place.
