Blog

A Blog is a journal style website. Articles or posts are presented in a chronological diary like style. The term “Blog” stems from the words “Web Log”. Because a blog is easy to set up and use, it is often used for things other than on line diaries. Since it functions like a news site, it can often be set up as a website.

Its a very powerful tool if you want to make a site. To start a blog like the one we at the OCC (Open Computer Center) use, visit www.blogger.com and start an account. If you are a member of www.gmail.com, you can use your user name and password to log in.

Once you log in its a matter of just choosing your name, setting up the template (look of the site) and finally posting. There are options in the settings that make your blog private or public. There are also preview options to see how the posts or the complete blog will look like.

Once you are satisfied click on publish and you have successfully blogged (the term used for posting a blog). You are now among the millions of people who are bloggers (blog authors).
