How to get your Lan ID

At NOVA every student gets a Lan ID when they enroll for classes. This is something that is created for you along with the user name for the myNOVA (including student account, email and blackboard accounts) and web space.

Your NOVA Lan ID is different from your myNOVA ID and can be found by visiting www.nvcc.edu and clicking on the mail and web link at the bottom.

Then click on "Student LAN ID search here"

  • Then follow the instructions to get your user name using your student number or your social security number.
  • Your password is an eight number password in the form of MMDDSSSS where MM is the first 2 digits of your birth month, DD the first 2 digits of your birthday and then SSSS the last four digits of your social security number.
  • The school has many domains and the one that is used by students is NVSTU.

Thats all you need to log on to the network. The above info is also needed to log on to your web space. That will be covered in the next topic.
